The old and very scenic Paseo del Centenario road has been sinking. Relentless waves have eaten away its supports over the years, said Municipal Public Works Director Sergio Wong Ramos.
Heavy machinery was moved to the site yesterday and began digging through the concrete to open a 10 meter long strip to begin the surgery.
As a result, Paseo del Centenario is closed to traffic and drivers should use the Cerro del Vigia road. Repairs are expected to take one week.
