Gerardo Gutierrez Candiani, President of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), told reporters that its members expect México’s economy to grow 3.5 percent in 2015. He noted that it is a level below what the country needs, but is better than what was seen in the past two years.

The CCE president said, “The biggest factor in expecting this scenario is the solid recovery in the United States, the engine to get our economy moving.”

Gutierrez Candiani said his organization expects the gross domestic product (GDP) to grow at a 3.5 percent rate with inflation rising 3.7 percent this year. These projections compare to the 2.2 percent GDP growth and 4.1 percent inflation reported in 2014.
