Santa Claus Village Opens on Saturday

Mazatlán municipality’s annual Santa Claus village has moved this year from last year’s location on Av. Leonismo Internacional in front of the Bosque de la Ciudad to the Plazuela República beside the municipal hall in El Centro.
And instead of a traditional Christmas tree, said Irvin Campos Valle, director of Public Relations, there will be an enormous manger with figures over one meter in height illuminated with glass fiber lights. Gone as well this year will be the traditional manger stalls of live rabbits, sheep and a donkey.
The village will be inaugurated on December 6 at 7 pm by Mayor Felton and DIF president Sylvia Treviño de Felton and will remain open until Three Kings Day, January 6, 2015.
