Rafael Lizárraga Favela, Undersecretary of Projects, Investment and Tourism Development, said the rehabilitation project for the Golden Zone is moving forward at a fast pace.
He said they are working day and night on Gaviotas and Camarón Sábalo replacing the sidewalks. The undersecretary said, “In some areas of Gaviotas and Camarón Sábalo we are working to replace sidewalks, but we are also deep cleaning portions of the sidewalk that are being restored and preparing them for application of the chemicals and dyes to finish them.”
Lizárraga Favela added, “If the work continues at this pace surely we will finish in the allotted time, which is before the end of the year.”
When reporters asked about the progress on the Malecón, he said that was also going well, but noted that that was the project of the city. Although the Secretary of Tourism supported the project, city officials would have to respond to that question, he said.
