Municipality Announces New Investments

The Sinaloa Secretary of Economic Development announced yesterday a new hotel will be built in La Marina by a prominent hotel chain from Los Mochis. Without identifying the name of the hotel or the number of rooms, the Secretary said construction would begin within the next few weeks and that the company is investing over 100,000 million pesos.
At the same press conference, Hilda Inukai Sashida, Mazatlán´s Secretary of Economic Development, said the municipality will soon see the construction of two hotels, a boutique hotel, new commercial developments and a clothing manufacturing plant that will employ only women over age 35 and people with disabilities.
Most of the investors come from the Corredor Económico del Norte, she explained, adding 80 percent of investors were Mexican businesses and 20 percent foreign investment.
