Handicapped License Plates to be Issued

Felipe Parata Valdivia, Collector of Revenue for Sinaloa, said that the state would begin issuing Handicapped license plates for automobiles registered in the state and that by a decree of the Governor those requesting the newly designed license plates between November 1 and December 23 will receive a 50 percent discount. The normal cost is around 530 pesos, Parata said.
In order to obtain the new plates a person will need to present their old license plates and a voter ID card. If the vehicle is registered to a family member, they must show evidence of IMSS or DIF disability.
Sergio Wong Ramos, Director of Public Works for the city, said the city would be undertaking a program to create dedicated parking spaces for those with handicapped license plates. He added that more wheelchair ramps onto sidewalks would be built, as well as the removal of objects that are blocking current wheelchair ramps.
