Federal Gov’t Budgets Infrastructure Funds for Mazatlán

The Mexican federal government has budgeted 300 million pesos for urban infrastructure projects in Mazaatlán for the year 2015.

For the third consecutive year Mazatlán has been allocated a substantial budget to complete important infrastructure projects, he stated, adding that the Mayor can now present his projects to Hacienda.
According to Heredia Lizárraga, some of the projects on the table for 2015 include five road works:
  • finishing the road to Isla de la Piedra (Stone Island)
  • finishing the road between Villa Unión and La Amapa
  • completing Av. Ernesto Coppel Campaña
  • constructing a bridge in La Escopama, and
  • extending Av. Óscar Pérez Escobosa
As well said the deputy, the municipality will have resources to construct the new police and emergency services building (Centro de Seguridad Ciudadana) and update the drainage system in Parque Bonfil.
Sports and cultural projects are also contemplated, he added.
With respect to the remodeling of the municipal market in El Centro, the deputy advised the project was not included in the budget but the Mayor can use the funds for any public works he deems necessary.
