Association for the El Centro Project Presents Plan to Mayor

The Board of Directors of the Association for the El Centro Project, led by Alfredo Gómez Rubio Lemmen Meyer, its president, met with Mazatlán’s mayor, Carlos Felton, to present to him their proposal for the rehabilitation of El Centro.
At a projected cost of 30 million pesos ($2.25 million) the businessmen’s plan is divided into five phases.
Prior to the meeting with the mayor Gómez Rubio said, “These are projects have been in the works for some time, such as the idea of ??adequate parking in the Historic Center, as part of the mobility plan, a remodeling of the Plazuela Machado, landscaping, benches and other projects to widen sidewalks, and the rescue of three prior projects that were left unfinished, including underground wiring.”
The businessman said that 300,000 pesos ($22,500) has been spent to date to prepare final plans for the projects and they are ready to be implemented.
The City Council in a released announcement said the city would provide 70 percent of the funds needed to commence the work, with completion to be scheduled for next year.
