Multi-Use Complex to be Ready this Year

The multi-use complex being constructed in the Mazatlán Marina zone is 75 percent complete and is expected to be finalized by the end of this year.
Yesterday, the Sinaloa Governor, Mazatlán Mayor and several other functionaries were given a tour of the work-in-progress.
The center, it was explained, will have a 6,000 seat capacity for events but could be expanded to 8,000 seats if necessary.
The three-story, air conditioned structure of 14,000 square meters covers 21 hectares.
Approximately 351 million pesos was spent on the first stage, including the purchase of land and construction of roads. Yesterday, the Secretary of Public Works advised a further 40 million pesos are required to complete the complex.
According to official documents, the building will be used for four main functions: sports, arts, cultural and social activities. It will also serve as a shelter is times of emergency.
