City Looks at Purchasing 100 New Vehicles

Updated transportation is needed for Public Works, Social Services, Public Services and Planning.
Updated transportation is needed for Public Works, Social Services, Public Services and Planning.
Official Mayor, Salvador Reynosa Garzón, said the city will analyze the feasibility of purchasing 100 new vehicles for different municipal departments.
The reason is many of the city’s vehicles are in a poor state of repair generating high maintenance costs. They will look at the possibility of purchasing new vehicles on credit over 24 months as a less expensive alternative.
Without specifying the maintenance costs of the city’s present fleet of cars, trucks and pickups, Reynosa Garzón said they need updated transportation for the departments of Public Works, Social Services, Public Services and Planning.
The analysis of 100 vehicles will include pickups, garbage and heavy equipment trucks used in outer colonias and ambulances that are in deplorable condition, he said.
As well, they will ask the municipal council for authorization to sell the city’s used vehicles for personal use rather than as junkers that cannot be registered, as has been done for years.
In this way, said the Official Mayor, the city could sell functioning vehicles and recuperate expenses.
