More Airline Arrivals Announced

Carlos Berdegué Sacristan, president of the Association of Hotels and Tourism Companies of Mazatlán, told reporters that beginning in December of this year Sun Country Airlines will increase the number of its arrivals to Mazatlán to four a week for the 2014–2015 season.
The increase in the passenger load for these flights is 600 and when added to the passenger load of the new Delta Airlines arrivals of 1,500, the passenger capacity of arriving flights from the U.S. and Canada will increase by 40 percent over the 2013–2014 season.
Berdegué Sacristan said, “Sun Country flights from Minneapolis will start beginning December 20 with a frequency of four flights per week. Each flight will have a passenger capacity of 160 and will exceed the airlines historic passenger load of 2008.”
The Association president added that with this kind of progress for the city it is expected that Mazatlán will have a great 2014-2015 season with hotel occupancy close to 75 percent compared to prior years’ average of 48 percent.
