México Attracts Manufacturing Companies

U.S. companies that are expanding their operations are choosing México over China given its proximity to their market and México’s labor cost.
According to a report by The Boston Consulting Group that analyzes labor costs, the prices of manufacturing in the world have changed dramatically in the past 10 years and now México is cheaper than China.
Investments that were in Asia are now moving to México. Such investments include those of Black and Decker, Whirlpool, and General Electric.
Even Asian companies are moving manufacturing to México. The Chinese company Johnson Electric, a company dedicated to the manufacture of components for cars is the first Chinese company to move to Zacatecas.
