Mazatlecan Reporter Nominated for Emmy

Mazatlecan reporter and producer Vanessa Bernal, formerly of Canal 7 and now resident in Colorado where she reports for Noticias Univisión Colorado, has been nominated for the Emmy Heartland Chapter for her human interest story on the annual Motorcycle Week in Mazatlán. The Heartland Emmy is a division of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Her report, “A toda máquina en Mazatlán,” revolves around Colorado motorcyclist Ramón Martínez and his travel adventures as he bikes each year from Colorado to Mazatlán for the annual motorcycle week celebration. The second part of the documentary talks about Californian and motorcycle enthusiast, Glen Heggsted, who wrote a book about his experiences.
This is the second time Bernal has been nominated for an Emmy. In 2013 she won the award for her report “El Rostro de la Autodeportación.”
