Centro Historico to “Dust Off” Postponed Projects

President of the Project Centro Historico Association, Alfredo Gómez Rubio Lemmen Meyer, wants to dust off public works in the area left by the wayside over the last year and revitalize the main downtown area which, he says, is deteriorating and chaotic.
The first would be to finish laying underground telephone and electric cables in Olas Altas, Ángel Flores and Viejo Mazatlán requiring an investment of 30 million pesos to be paid by the municipal and State governments, Telmex and CFE and which Gómez Rubio expects can be completed by the end of this year.
Other projects include planting trees, relocating vendors from the Cliff Diver´s glorieta, finishing the Tourist Corridor, restoring the Pino Suárez market and installing artistic lighting.
Businessmen in Centro Historico say they are confident the projects can go forward working with the present municipal administration, to which the ideas were presented a few days ago.
