More than 150 young men from local and regional baseball teams answered a try-out call organized by the Venados of Mazatlán and the Pittsburgh Pirates at the Teodoro Mariscal baseball stadium yesterday.
For several hours scouts from the Venados and Pirates watched the talented players looking for an opportunity to play for the Venados or be signed up for the big league Pittsburgh Pirates.
Jesús Valdez, Venados sports manager and scout for the Pirates, was in attendance along with several trainers from the Mazatlán team. (from Noroeste)
