Mazatlán restaurateur Ricardo Velarde Cárdenas, head of Canirac, would like to see Mazatlán promoted as an ideal location for destination weddings, but to date no local company is promoting the idea.
Nonetheless, he told media, they have noticed an increase in people travelling to the city expressly to hold and celebrate a wedding, bringing groups of 250 to 300 guests for the occasion, most commonly from Culiacán, Durango, Torreón and Chihuahua.
Mazatlán is ideal for this niche market, he said, providing sea views, exquisite food and high quality hotels. (from Noroeste)
