Mayor Announces Advances in Public Works Projects

In a recent visit to Mexico City, Mazatlán Mayor Carlos Felton attended three important meetings relating to public works projects for the city.
One dealt with an elaboration of the executive plan for the aqueduct project which would allow access to 570 million pesos to resolve the problem of water distribution in the municipality.
The second meeting was with the Secretary of the Government, the Mayor said, where chronic flooding problems in the Zona Dorada were discussed and plans to rectify the problem were advanced.
Finally, the Mayor met with owners of the El Faro Hotel and Rodolfo López Negrete of the Tourism Promotion Board. Felton told reporters that yesterday the owners of El Faro advised him they have decided to invest and re-open the hotel, generating 400 to 500 jobs for Mazatlecans.
