Two express payment windows and additional personnel have been hired to examine documentation.
Although payment of the annual vehicle registration can be made via the internet atwww.sinaloa.gob.mx, hundreds of vehicle owners preferred to stand in long lines yesterday, the final day for payment, at the Recaudación de Rentas at the Administrative Buildings and the Servicio de Atención Cuiudadana offices in the Gran Plaza Shopping Mall.
Felipe Parada Valdivia, head of the Recaudación de Rentas, announced yesterday that at the direction of Sinaloa Governor Mario López Valdez, the deadline for discounts on annual registration payments has been extended to April 15 with the sole intention of allowing owners a little more time to pay.
Parada Valdivia clarified that obtaining new license plates and paying annual vehicle registration fees must be done at the local Recaudación offices.
He advised the new deadline date of April 15 will not be extended further and asked owners not to leave the matter to the last day.
Given the long waiting lines, he said they have installed two express payment windows and hired additional personnel to examine documentation.
They are now examining documents of people waiting in lines and providing them with forms to complete before they reach the cashier, he said.
In the Recaudación office in the Administrative Buildings, personnel attend to approximately 700 vehicle owners a day, while in the module in the Gran Plaza Shopping Center approximately 300.
Parada Valdivia invited citizens to pay their fees via the Sinaloa government internet site with a credit or debit card.
