Mazatlán Scores 9.2 on Satisfaction Survey

Fernando Fuentevilla, with the Mazatlán company Fresh Ideas, said that a Tourist Satisfaction Survey conducted at 47 local hotels revealed that on a score of 1-10 tourists attending Mazatlán’s 2014 Carnaval gave the city a ranking of 9.2.
The ranking given to the city’s hotels were 89 for cleanliness, 88 for customer service, and 83 to the hotels’ restaurants, for an overall score of 88 for the hotels surveyed.
Secretary of Tourism of Sinaloa, Francisco Córdova Celaya, said of the tourists interviewed 93% said they intended to return to Mazatlán within the next twelve months and 60% said they had visited the city on three or more occasions in the past.
Córdova Celaya said the majority of the tourists visiting the city for Carnaval were from Sinaloa, Jalisco, Durango, Guanajuato, Federal District, State of México, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Nayarit, Zacatecas, Baja California, Hidalgo, Texas, United States and Canada and they gave the city a 94% favorable rating.
José Ramón Sánchez Manguart, president of the Association of the Hotels of the Three Islands, said the 9.2 result for Carnival was very positive because it exceeded the rating tourists gave the city in a similar survey taking last summer, when the rating was 8.4
