Having estimated that 80,000 people will attend each concert to be presented in Olas Altas by the Banda El Recodo and Los Recoditos on the Monday and Tuesday nights of Carnaval (March 3 & 4), yesterday authorities and leaders of the Banda El Recodo met to analyze security strategies.

Personnel from the Secretariat of Public Security, Civil Protection and representatives of Banda El Recodo met with the Director of Cultura, Raúl Rico, to discuss ways to ensure order and public security during Carnaval.

In the discussion, Rico pointed out the importance of making decisions that will allow the public to enjoy the concerts by the well-known bandas without risk or visibility problems.

Secretary of Public Security, Pablo Andrés Hernández Lizárraga, said his department is establishing security operations in conjunction with other corporations.

Alfonso Lizárraga of the Banda El Recodo said the banda will perform for three hours and is collaborating with Cultura and police to ensure security is in place during the performance.
