Mazatlán’s new Mayor, Carlos Felton González, said that
security would be a high priority and that his administration would work
to establish an image of safety throughout the city.
He said in an effort to accomplish those goals, police
booths in the Golden Zone, tourist areas, and neighborhoods that are
currently abandoned would be reopened.
He added that the booths would be manned by a social worker in addition to a police officer.
